FAQ

How should I prepare my horse?

A.Your horse should be prepared as they would for a show; clean, with bright whites and no stains. If clipping, be sure to do so a week or two ahead of time so no clipper lines are visible. Clipped legs and bridle path make for a tidy appearance but ears and muzzle can be at your preference.

Bridle or halter?

A.This will depend on your personal preference, but whichever you choose, make sure it is cleaned and oiled. If you use a halter, it should be leather with a leather lead rope with a chain. I also have a photography halter, which is a simple rope halter that can be edited out later if you would like the look of a naked face.

To braid or not to braid?

A.Braiding is highly recommended, but not required. If you opt to not braid, I ask that your horse's mane at least be neat and tidy. Long, flowy manes are also ok!

What should I bring to the session?

A.I encourage you to bring a friend so that one person can hold the horse while the other is free to help get the horse's ears up. It is also handy to bring hoof polish, a towel to wipe their muzzle, their favorite treats, and anything that can help get the horse's attention.
